Each time a new phone emerges, you might be tempted to upgrade just to stay up-to-date with the latest technology.
But what’s different about iPhone 7 from iPhone 6? We’ll take a look in this post.iPhone 7 was announced back in September, and here is how it compares with iPhone 6.

iPhone 6 vs. iPhone 7 - Design:
As you can see, they are almost identical in size and weight. However, there are some other surface differences that are new to iPhone 7. For one, iPhone 7 is made with Series 7000 aluminum and is water resistant. iPhone 7 introduces IP67 waterproofing and can survive fully-submersed for up to 30 minutes. It can even take photos underwater and is dust resistant as well.Speaking of the camera, Apple has integrated the camera module in iPhone 7. Unlike iPhone 6 and its successor, iPhone 6s, where the camera is streamlined into the body of the phone, the camera for iPhone 7 has a noticeable bump.

iPhone 6 vs. iPhone 7 - Display:
The matching 1334 x 750 pixels and 326ppi densities of the screens means that iPhone 6 and iPhone 7 have the same sharpness. However, Apple claims iPhone 7’s display is 25 percent brighter and has a P3 color gamut, meaning the colors should be richer and more accurate. It is also less reflective, allowing for better viewing outdoors.
iPhone 7 also continues the 3D Touch introduced on iPhone 6s. This allows the phone to sense different levels of pressure for “peek and pop” shortcuts, mainly on icons and to preview emails and links. With the multidimensional 3D Touch, you can press deeply to launch actions instead of apps, reply to notifications, preview messages, and links, switch keyboards, switch apps, animate Live Photos, vary stroke width, and more. 3D Touch acts as a wormhole through iOS that lets you move around faster than ever.

iPhone 6 vs. iPhone 7 - Camera:
First, the biggest difference is found in the 7MP front-facing camera, it is a large improvement over iPhone 6’s 1.2MP front-facing camera. iPhone 7's front-facing camera also has auto image stabilization for superior selfies, plus body detection and a wide color capture. iPhone 7 also supports the clever flash feature introduced on iPhone 6s, which uses the screen as a flash when taking selfies. But with iPhone 7, it is now 50 percent brighter.
For those who take lots of photos, iPhone 7 will be a good upgrade with its 12-megapixel camera and 6-element lens construction, a substantial upgrade from iPhone 6’s 8-megapixel camera. The optical image stabilization (OIS) and a larger f/1.8 aperture lens are also welcomed updates. The Retina Flash, first introduced on iPhone 6s, is onboard and the front-facing camera will record in 1080p, while the rear is capable of 4K.
iPhone 7 arrives with a new 12-megapixel sensor that sports an aperture of f/1.8 and a new six-element lens. Apple has added optical image stabilisation to the new device, along with a Quad-LED True Tone flash, along with the body detection and wide color capture. A second, 12-megapixel telephoto lens is found on iPhone 7 Plus, which gives users a degree of optical zoom.

iPhone 6 vs. iPhone 7 - Battery:
Despite slight improvements in the battery capacity (iPhone 6 - 1810mAh, iPhone 7 - 1960mAh), iPhone 7 is pretty comparable to iPhone 6. In fact, the battery capacity for each is around 14 hours. With light use, users can get a full day out of their iPhone 7, while iPhone 6 users can generally stretch theirs out until bedtime. iPhone 7 Plus on the other hand has a much larger battery capacity.Simply put, iPhone 7 will unlock quicker, your camera will boot up and be ready to take pictures faster, and you can more easily switch between apps quickly without having to wait for them to reload.
