Guizhou-Made Tiles Reach Laos via China-Laos Railway, Opening New Export Channel

Ceramic tiles manufactured in Guizhou Province have successfully reached Vientiane, the capital of Laos, via the China-Laos Railway, marking a milestone in regional trade connectivity. The shipment, consisting of six standard containers, departed from Guiyang International Land Port and is set to be used in local real estate projects.

This initiative is part of Guizhou’s broader strategy to expand trade with Southeast Asia under China’s Belt and Road Initiative. By leveraging the efficiency of the China-Laos Railway, logistics providers have optimized cargo matching and transport coordination, ensuring timely deliveries for small and frequent shipments—a key demand for regional exporters.

"This breakthrough not only strengthens Guizhou’s export capabilities but also paves the way for more ‘Made in Guizhou’ products to enter the Lao market," said a representative from the provincial logistics authority. Additional tile shipments are expected by the end of the month, reinforcing trade ties between the two regions
